i like the model muse bodies but i love the benefits of the articulated bodies for thier ability for almost unlimited posability ... my perfect doll would have the shape of the model muse body but the jointed arms and wrists and pivitol chest... that woud be hot we all should ideas to matell for the ultimate Barbie doll line... also feature not only a blonde barbie, a brunette, a red head, asian, spanish, Afican, indian, and all others that blend together to make an awesome assortment!!!! i love variety when it come to dolls.. i know pink is barbie's signature but that doesnt have to be for other dolls that dont have the blonde hair and blue eyes

Yes, that's right. Aphrodite was the first doll to use this mold so any future dolls are known as dolls that use the Aphrodite sculpt. The new Harley Davidson Barbie also uses this sculpt.

That's what I thought too, but the heads actually still stay on fine which makes me wonder why even have them there in the first place!

I would like to know the most effective way to remove eyelashes from the model muse barbies. I really dislike the eyelash thing on them.

Hi everyone, I just joined this forum a couple of days ago and I am excited to be here! Thank you for creating a forum devoted to the Barbie dolls who have the ModelMuse sculpt.
I have been a Barbie fan and collector since age 5 (I'm 48 now, so you do the math, LOL!), and focus my Barbie collection on vintage repros, Silkstones and ModelMuse dolls. I am VERY excited about the new Barbie Basics dolls. I found the pages with information about each Basic doll here on the forum, and was intrigued to learn that each doll was originally going to have a name assigned to her. I love how this collection takes Barbie back to her original career as fashion model, and I hope it has great success. I have loved the previous Model series that have used the MM body (Model of the Moment, Best Models and Top Models), but those have all went away, sadly. Crossing my fingers that the Basics will be here for a long time.
I'm also working on adding MM dolls from previous years to my collection that I still don't have (Diane Von Furstenberg and Anna Sui to name a couple). It's always fun to find those missing pieces and add them to the collection.
And I love to sew and knit for my dolls, both for my personal collection, and for others. Would it be okay if I share my fashion designs with this forum?
Again, I'm glad to be here, and look forward to meeting you all.
Thanks, Vince :)

i like the packaging (the box itself), it reminds of the late 90's and early 2000 boxes. the black dress itself is a classic.
what i do not like about mmbarbie dolls wearing black clothes is the stain it gives on her body. when you debox her, you will see her having stains on her covered parts.

In all articles on this doll it is said to have a new face sculpt, not Goddess. I usually wait for confirmation (someone actually has the doll) before adding face sculpt info here, unless it is obvious.

Congratulation on your beautiful AKA Barbie. I watched her on eBay at bakedpumpkin's shop as well. But that was when Mattel wanted to bring out a second wave of this doll at end of December 2008. I didn't buy her immediately. And just two days later she was gone (and obviously you bought her ;o))) And unfortunately Mattel didn't release any further AKA dolls... So I will keep on looking for her.

"I just bought an AKA Barbie for 90 Euro. It still is quite expensive regarding her issue price, but she often sells much higher on eBay. Looking forward to getting her...Hope she arrives safely." I'd bought mine for AUD $125 ... which is very cheap compared to what's on eBay!
